** The 15" walleye minimum size limit remains in effect for the entire
season. From March 1 through April 30 the walleye limit on Lake Erie
and its tributaries is 3 fish per day. Anglers are reminded that the
daily bag limit for trout and salmon on Lake Erie and its tributaries is
2 fish through May 15. The trout and salmon minimum size limit is 12
inches.**

*2005 Ohio fishing licenses are now available.*

While airboats are still traveling from the mainland to fish offshore it
should be considered unsafe to walk out on the ice or drive snowmobiles
or ATV's onto the ice from the mainland. The best walleye fishing
continues to be west of South Bass Island between Rattlesnake Island and
Green Island, where the ice is sheltered. Although temperatures are
expected to stay below freezing, the winds in the forecast will most
likely alter ice conditions in any exposed areas. Be sure to check with
local bait stores, ice guides or other anglers before going out on areas
that you are not familiar with.
