WALLEYE:
The walleye have started to pick back up on both sides of the island area and the water temp. has started to drop for the upcoming fall fishing. Walleye are being caught trolling spoons on jets and dipsys. The drifters are not doing as well as the trollers on the west side of the island area. The best areas to catch walleye is north of the range cans and west of North Bass Island to G can. Between the island area, the Gull Reef and Kelley Island Reef are still holding nice walleye and perch. Going east of Kelley's Island, both drifters and trollers have been doing very well over the last 10 days. Large walleyes have been coming into the marina, as well as some limits. The best areas are in the 45' areas north of the Huron area, which are the fall holding areas for large schools of walleye. We still have some prime dates open to get into some great fall walleye.
PERCH:
The perch have been fantastic over the late month as long as mother nature helps. The best areas have been around the firing cans in deep water and west of Green Island and Rattlesnake Island. Spreaders and minnows have been the best bait for the perch. Around Kelley's Island also have been producing good size perch with the best areas are the airport area and the south side of the island. Lastly the Lighthouse and Cedar Point fog horn still are producing good catches of perch.
