[ Lake Erie & Tributaries Fishing Report ]

Well, fall is here and that means a few northeaster’s in the forecast. The walleye fishing is still in the rock piles around the islands and in Canada . The best deep is from 6-28 foot of water using worm harnesses.
The trollers are doing well just west of the islands and northeast of Kelley’s island. There are some loose weeds that are floating and causing a few problems while trolling, thanks to the winds.
Perch fishing is still doing far just west of the islands, north of the range buoys, ballast and north bass islands, gull and Kelley’s reef, east of Kelley’s island and the fog horn off cedar point. Just look for some clearer water and depths from 25-40 feet. The supplies of bait have been the problem over the last week. The bait shops last weekend had a mixture of flatheads and shinners. Maybe with the weather this week the bait will be better.
Bass was fair last week in the Canadian waters, we boated bass up to 19” in the rocks. Craws are still available but the supply will deplete as the weather turns cool.
We still have some dates open for fall fishing as the boats will stay in the water until late October.
Good fishin
Capt Bob Hughey
