A very windy week! Last week was ushered in with a relentless northeast wind, which howled day and night for three days straight. Not even the big steel party boats dared to venture out. Finally by Thursday the winds eased and everyone got back out on the water. Fearing the worst, we headed out on what I thought was going to be a totally muddy mess. Surprisingly the water was stained but not really that bad! The real surprise was that once again it didn't even slow the Walleye fishing one little bit. Everyone picked up where we had left off. The Walleye bite is still as hot as it was before the blow. The only thing I noticed was that the best action was slightly off the reefs in 15 to 16 foot of water. We stilled jigged a couple of days but we also trolled one day. Although the trolling bite is still slower then the jigging action right now, the fish are bigger. We managed to get a few post spawn females including one 29 1/2 trophy which hit a Fenwick Wobbling Minnow fished 40 foot back on a #20 Jet Diver off the planer boards.

This week is supposed to be rather pleasant so we may elect to do some more trolling. I'm also hearing rumors of some Walleye being caught on worm harnesses as well. Time to break out the bottom bouncers. Might try that as well this week. The water temperature off of Toledo harbor is 48 degrees. I would like to remind everyone that we still have some open dates for April available. I can be reached directly on my mobile number (216) 387-2656.
