WALLEYE:

Fourteen year old Dan Wanker of Pittsburgh brought in a 10 pound 1 ounce Walleye for Junior Angler Award. It was 30 inches long and had a girth of 17 ½ inches. He caught it in 70 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek using a Green Flash, Reef Runner.

Sixteen year old Jerry Martis of Belle-Vernon, PA brought in his 8 pound 12 ½ ounce Walleye for Angler Award. It was 29 inches long and had a girth of 17 inches. He caught it out in 65 ft of water West of Elk Creek on a worm harness. The color was Watermelon.

Fourteen year old Lucas Riggleman of Hollidaysburg, PA brought in his Junior Award sized Walleye. It was 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 27 ½ inches long with a girth of 17 inches. He caught his out in 59 ft of water straight out of Walnut Creek on worm harness. Color was Orange.

Fifteen year old Brett Benson of Hollidaysburg, PA brought his Walleye in for Junior Award. It was 7 pounds, 8 ½ ounces,, 29 inches long and had a girth of 16 ½ inches. He was out with Lucas (above) in 59 ft of water straight out of Walnut. His color harness was Blue.

Fifteen year old Keaton Hersch (whose birthday was today the 6th) came in with a 9 pound Walleye and it was 30 inches long with a girth of 17 inches. He caught the Walleye out in 59 ft of water off Elk Creek on a Monkey Puke, Stinger Spoon off a Dipsey Diver.

The Walleye seem to be doing okay. The only problem most people are concerned about is the size of the fish. No one seems to be catching any small ones which means there are not going to be many in two to three years. Most of the fish are over 22 inches. They are being caught in 60-70 ft of water out in the First Trench. Most are being caught on worm harnesses.

PERCH:

There are many people coming in with their limit of Perch. I just have no pictures of them. People are getting them out in 50-55 ft of water straight out of Walnut and a little east of Walnut.

Don't forget it is illegal to throw a Perch back because if it dies AND you have your limit it counts towards your creel even if you don't keep it. Then you would be over your limit. That is why we changed the creel to 30 Perch so you would keep the small ones too.

The Water temperature is finally getting up there. It is now 75 degrees. It sure took awhile to get there.

As of today, this weekend Cleveland is calling for 2 ft or less on the waves. That is for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
