West Erie County, DWCO Randy Leighton, rglerie@msn.com , WCO Brook Tolbert

Conditions:

A half a foot of snow along the Erie lake shore has kept trib levels up with reasonable flow although the water has generally been on the clear side. Temperatures in the twenties have slushed things up a bit have not given way to full ice over. Most areas have been open the last few days and conditions fair to good. Unfortunately there has not been a dramatic run of fish as has been evident from the lack of fresh fish catches. There is snow and rain in the forecast with mild temperatures predicted for Christmas day. Conditions could be very good this weekend. Presentations should still be kept light for now. Lake Erie water temperature is 37 degrees . West County tributary conditions as of Tuesday afternoon were up and flowing with some color in the deeper areas.

Thanks Again:
Your support, communication, and assistance have been a huge part of our success this year and we thank you. A special thanks all of you that permitted you pictures to be included in this forum and allowing us to illustrate what a truly great fishery we have here in Erie. In the coming year, we again as always, welcome your comments on our reports (pro or con) and will entertain any subjects, questions, or issues that our readers would like to see addressed. We are grateful for any useful information that will help to continue to make these reports successful and will work towards providing fresh information and the most current updates. We have made it our point to try to provide useful information for the inexperienced anglers new to our area as well as tips that even the veteran anglers may from time to time find useful. On behalf of myself and all the great PFBC officers along Pennsylvania's North Coast, we wish everyone a safe and joyous Holiday Season and a productive and successful New Year. DWCO R. Leighton
